Proposals to city planning that includes "agriculture" for realization of bright and low carbon society
Urban green spaces, Satoyamas*, and farmlands are precious carbon dioxide absorption resources in a city. We focus on them and propose the future of the low carbon society that has both of the effective utilization system of local renewable resources and the social system that combines the utilization to citizens’ lifestyles.
Utilization of biomass resources and conservation of biodiversity
We make an integrated demonstration, and through it we make plans and proposals that make effective technologies take root in the society.Conventional activities that aim to form the low carbon society produced some positive results from the viewpoint of an individual technology. However, many of them have not reached a sufficient effect yet to be activities to take root in the society.
*Satoyama is located between the native nature and the cities. It is an area comprised of a village, secondary forests surrounding the village, farmlands mixed with them, ponds, and meadows.
Its environment has been formed and maintained through various human activities of agriculture and forestry industry.
Satoyama is also a key area as a habitat for specific natural life forms as well as from the standpoint of supply of natural resources such as food and wood, a good landscape and cultural dissemination.
